Jody, Max and I were at Oscar last weekend. We (I) went swimming in very warm water, ate some great Holmes City corn and went to the fair.

Greg mowed the lawn on Thursday, but it is pretty green, and it will grow quickly.

The water is high. The lake is within a couple of inches of the decking on the dock, and the pontoon barely fits out of the lift. Anyone that uses the pontoon, should please make sure it is raised so the wood is out of the water.

I was going to raise the dock, but I could not do so without pushing in the pontoon lift or raising the wheel, and I could do neither by myself. There is very little rain forecast for the next ten days, so hopefully, we'll see some decrease.

The water is up to the ruts at the bottom of the driveway. I brought down three more heaping trailers of gravel and that seemed to help.

We took home a load of laundry, but there should be plenty of other towels and sheets.

We filled up one 5-gallon jug of drinking water at Pete's, but we also emptied the other one while we were there.

There is lots of butter, but very little else in the fridge. There are two unopened bags of tortilla chips. There is no ice.

Kathy has started organizing the meals, and she asked about a way to create a list on this site. I don't think we can put it directly on the site, but I did create a googledoc and I shared it with everyone that may be coming up there this weekend and that has accessed this blog.

You will have to be logged into to your google account to access it, and anyone can make changes or additions. I have plugged in what i know so far. Kathy you had said you would do a couple of different things, but I left the dates for you to plug in if you can get it to work. If not, email me and I can get it on there.

If someone could plug in what they know Grandma will bring that would be great too.

I sent an invite to each of you to view the document. It functions just like an excel spreadsheet.

Is anyone planning on heading up to the cabin this weekend? I am going up with a couple friends, either Friday evening, or early Saturday morning, to take advantage of great Saturday weather.

I just spoke with Eileen and she is planning to be at Oscar on Saturday-Sunday. She will most likely only have Emma with her. They may go over to Annendale on Sunday. She was having difficulty becoming a follower on the blog. I tried to help her, but maybe she needs someone at her computer to help her figure it out. She said she will bring big bowls of Potato Salad and baked beans for lunch on Saturday. Someone else can fill in with meats, veggies, etc for that meal. I may create a table to put down food items. I couldn't see a way to do it in the blog. Jeff? Jody? that's all folks, hope to hear from everyone about July 4th! kathy

OK, sorry if this is repeating an earlier comment. We are experiencing technical difficulties! So, Becky is here with me looking at the Kocur blog site. She is also stumped as to why I can't see the Kocur calendar. But, the strange part is that the Kocur calendar syncs with my Google calendar. Nice to see it there, I guess! Hey, everyone!! Let's start using this blog for the summer. OK? Kathy

July 4th holiday

Is it too early to start asking who will be at Oscar for the 4th?
Greg and Kathy will plan to be there on Thursday, June 30th at the latest. And, we plan to stay until at least Wednesday. We will have the RV. I will bring pedicure equipment! I purchased another set of the supplies recently and have 12-13 tubs. So, plan on that.
Food? I would like to make an overnight french toast bake and sausage for one morning. And, I will think of something for one lunch and one dinner.

Jody and I will be heading up with Max on Friday to get some fishing in and mow the lawn. I think the Josh and Jen Gillards are also going to be up there. Is anybody else coming up?

We haven't had the tent out this year, so we will probably be in that this weekend with Max.

We are sitting here on our Colorado land in our RV with our sweatshirts on and all the windows closed as the mountain air is mighty cold! Not that it can't get mighty cold at Oscar. We all know how that feels! Greg and I will not be able to make the Memorial Weekend (due to our PIT project in Utah), but we wish you all great times, good laughs and many birthday songs for Maddie! Love you all! Kathy

We have not been using the Yahoo site very frequently, and I was hoping we could get a new system set up that was more accessible and less password protected.

This blog will allow you to post to any of the lists (once you sign in, I will then be able to add you as an administrator) so we can have a calendar and discussion blog all in one place.

Once you sign in, and I add you as an admin, you should see a wrench and screwdriver show up at the bottom of the lists on the right hand side. When you click on the list, you can add items.

If you subscribe to the calendar, you can click on the Google insignia on the bottom of the calendar and add your own dates that you will be up there.

If you want to post a new comment in this section, click on the "new post" button in the upper right hand corner. If you want to respond to a previous comment, click on the comment link after each post.
